John O. Mucha

	John O. "Johnny" Mucha, age 87, of DuQuoin, IL, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 11:06 a.m. in his home.
	Johnny was born in DuQuoin on February, 18, 1916, a son of Gottlieb                     and Marie (Dignath) Mucha.  He married Dorothy L. (Franklin) on June 2, 1940 and she preceded him in death.  
	During his lifetime he served with the U. S. Army during World War II, was the manager of the former Economy Variety Store, DuQuoin, a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, DuQuoin, a member of the Ainad Shrine, East St. Louis, IL, a member of the DuQuoin Masonic Lodge #234, A. F. & A. M. for 51 years, a member of the Scottish Rite, Belleville, IL, and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union.
	Survivors include a son: John David Mucha, and his wife, Betty, of Pinckneyville, four grandchildren:  David G. Mucha, and his wife, Chris, Betsy Cacioppo, John J. Mucha, and his wife, Betti Jo, and William F. "Bill" Mucha, three great-grandchildren:  Lauren and Melanie Cacioppo and Daisi Jo Mucha.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter:  Janet Mucha, along with several brothers and sisters.
	Funeral services were held on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's United Church of Christ with Pastor Paul Schultz officiating.  Interment was in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery, DuQuoin.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home, DuQuoin, on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. then from 10:00 a.m. till services at the church.
	Masonic services were conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
	Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
